Detailed 15-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel

When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, our driver-guide will be waiting for you. You will go over the 15-day Uganda safari plan together. From the airport, you will be transferred to Kampala city. You will check in at your hotel, have dinner, and spend the night there.

Day 2: Transfer to Sipi Falls, hike to the falls, and coffee tour

Have an early breakfast at your hotel, then check out and travel to eastern Uganda. The drive to Sipi Falls is about 273 km, with lunch on the way. On arrival, go for a guided hike to see the 3 waterfalls. Take photos of the falls, birds, and insects around.

You will also walk through nearby communities where local coffee farmers will teach you how they grow, harvest, and roast coffee. Enjoy a cup of fresh coffee and learn about their way of life. Later, check in at your accommodation, have dinner, and spend the night there.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After an early breakfast, you will travel to Kidepo Valley National Park in the northeastern part of Uganda. The journey from Sipi Falls is about 433 km, with lunch on the way. When you arrive, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 4: Morning game drive and Karamojong community visit

After breakfast, go to the Narus Valley for a morning game drive. You may see cheetahs, lions, leopards, zebras, elephants, and other animals. Return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the nearby Karimojong community. Learn about their way of life, how they cook, and enjoy local food and entertainment. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Top of the Falls visit

Wake up, have breakfast, and check out of the lodge. Start your 314 km journey to Murchison Falls National Park, with lunch in Gulu. Enter the park through Pakwach and go to the top of the falls.

This is where you can see the strong waterfall and many birds. Take photos and enjoy the sound of the water as it falls 45 meters down. After the visit, go to your lodge, check in, have dinner, and rest.

Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Have breakfast, then go for a morning game drive in the northern part of the park. You may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and many birds. Take photos and return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile River starting from Paraa. You will see crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, baboons, and many birds like eagles, vultures, kingfishers, and maybe even the rare shoebill. At the base of the falls, stop to take photos, then return to the jetty and go back to your lodge for dinner and sleep.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park and visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru

After breakfast, check out and travel southwest to Kibale National Park, about 253 km away. The park is home to over 1,400 chimpanzees. Stop in Fort Portal city for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves for a short hike and learn the local legend behind these formations. Then walk to see the Nyakasura waterfalls and nearby crater lakes. Take photos and continue to Kibale. Check in at your lodge, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 8: Chimpanzee trek and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out and go for chimp trekking in Kibale Forest. Track a group of chimpanzees with a ranger, watch their behavior, and take photos. After the trek, meet your driver and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, about 78 km away, with lunch on the way.

Stop at the Equator line for photos. On arrival, you may spot some animals. Check in at your lodge, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 9: Game drive, boat cruise, and transfer to Ishasha

Have breakfast and go for a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. Look out for lions, leopards, elephants, antelopes, and warthogs. Return to your lodge for lunch, check out, and head to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise.

You will see crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and many birds. You may also spot the shoebill stork and grey crowned crane. After the cruise, drive to the Ishasha sector, home of tree-climbing lions. Check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest.

Day 10: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, check out and go for a game drive in Ishasha. Try to spot the tree-climbing lions. Other animals here include antelopes, elephants, and warthogs.

Then travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, about 150 km away, with lunch on the way. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 11: Gorilla trek and Batwa community visit

After breakfast, go to the briefing point in the park with your packed lunch. Learn the rules and find out which gorilla group you will visit. Go with your ranger to track the gorillas.

Along the way, look out for birds and other primates. When you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour watching them. Follow your ranger’s instructions when taking photos. After the trek, return to your driver.

Later, visit the Batwa community near the park. Learn about their traditions, hunting skills, and how they use herbs. Enjoy songs, dances, and folktales. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, canoe ride, and cycling tour

After breakfast, check out and go to Lake Bunyonyi. Start with a canoe ride to enjoy bird watching and views of the 29 islands and hills.

Go to your lodge, check in, and have lunch. In the afternoon, go cycling to explore more of the lake, its islands, and nearby villages. You may see birds and animals like zebras. Return to your lodge for dinner and sleep.

Day 13: Boat cruise and nature walk

After breakfast, go for a motorboat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. Watch birds, see islands, and enjoy the view. Visit important islands like Akampene, where unmarried pregnant women were once left. Take photos.

Then go for a nature walk on one of the islands, meet locals, and learn about their way of life. Return to your lodge for lunch and rest. You can swim or relax by the lake in the evening. Have dinner and spend the night.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and boat cruise

Wake up, have breakfast, and check out. Travel 205 km to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch on the way. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Look for birds like the shoebill, gonolek, and crowned crane, and see crocodiles and hippos.

Go to your lodge, check in, freshen up, and enjoy dinner. Stay overnight.

Day 15: Game drive and return to Kampala

After early breakfast, check out and go for a game drive in the park. You may see zebras, giraffes, elands, buffaloes, and hippos. Take photos and then start your 231 km journey back to Kampala, with lunch on the way.

When you arrive, you will be dropped at your hotel or Entebbe Airport for your flight home. This is the end of your 15-day Uganda safari.
