Wealth is not just gold but also the beauty that surrounds you. Spend your money on your well-being during a Kibale safari and choose from the luxury accommodations below to make your adventure complete.
Volcanoes Kibale Lodge
Kibale Lodge, the new chimpanzee lodge by Volcanoes Safaris in Uganda, is now open!
The lodge will have eight bandas, along with a spa and a swimming pool. Four bandas are already open, and the other four will be ready by the end of the year. The lodge is built by Volcanoes’ own team of African builders, using their special handmade style.
Kibale Lodge is located on a ridge, offering clear views of the Rwenzori Mountains to the west and the Queen Elizabeth plains and Kazinga Channel to the south.
Papaya Lodge
Papaya Lake Lodge is a peaceful place surrounded by green landscapes in Fort Portal, in the crater lakes region, set between two extinct volcanoes. The waters of Lyantonde and Kifuruka lakes continue to flow through the area, showing the beauty of the Mountains of the Moon.
Crafts at the lodge reflect the heart of Africa. Once you arrive at Papaya Lake Lodge, you will enjoy the traditional African art displayed throughout. These are usually made from natural materials such as grass, leaves, and roots. Take some time to take photos of these pieces to keep memories of the true works of art, made possible by Magdalena and Sebastian.
Primate Lodge Kibale
Primate Lodge is well known and located inside the park, making it easy for guests to start their activities on time, such as birding, chimpanzee trekking, community walks, and many others. The lodge has nine modern luxury cottages built with local bricks and grass-thatched roofs, giving guests a feel of the African environment.
There are also seven standard cottages, each with a king-sized bed and a private bathroom that has both hot and cold water showers. A family cottage is available with interconnecting doors to keep family members close.
A honeymoon cottage is specially made for couples and has an upstairs bedroom with a veranda offering a good view. The lodge also has a campsite.
To plan your gorilla trekking or other park activities, remember that Kanyanchu Visitor Center serves as the primary starting point within Kibale National Park.
Ndali Lodge
Ndali Lodge is a favorite for many luxury travelers because of its location facing one of the large crater lakes. While having a cup of coffee, guests can enjoy the view of the peaceful lake below. It is about 26 kilometers from Fort Portal town and takes only 45 minutes to reach Kibale.
The rooms are well decorated and come with private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, electric lights beside each bed, and two 4-foot-wide beds. The honeymoon cottage has one 6-foot-wide bed.
Kyaninga Lodge
Out of the hard work of a visionary man, the beautiful Kyaninga Lodge was built. It has a sitting area made from an old door that leads out to a private deck. The lodge is built on a raised platform with hand-carved legs, giving a clear view of the lake and the Rwenzori Mountains.
Kyaninga has special en-suite bathrooms with clawfoot bathtubs and glass-walled showers. Other services include a restaurant, a well-stocked bar with soft and alcoholic drinks, free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool, an evening campfire, a lounge area, and a lawn tennis court for relaxation.
