June in Kibale National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking & Cultural Experiences

The dry season continues in June with little or no rain, making it one of the best times to visit Kibale National Park as well as other nearby parks, especially Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking. This activity is as popular as chimpanzee trekking, and the park is always busy during this time of the year.

It receives many visitors and offers the best services, from guiding people through the jungle to providing good lodging.

Tour guides are always ready to accompany every visitor to the park. They are very knowledgeable and know all the corners of the park. That is why it is advised to stay close to them and not wander off without their direction.

The staff at the park is large enough to assist the many visitors. For example, porters are available to help carry heavy items for tourists.

At the lodges, restaurant staff such as waiters, waitresses, managers, and chefs are employed to make sure you enjoy your stay. Laundry services are always available, along with free Wi-Fi to help you stay in touch with your family back home. Room service is also ready to clean your room. Even if you are inside, your room will always be cleaned for you.

In June, Kibale welcomes all kinds of visitors—international and local, adults and children. Activities are planned to suit everyone.

One of these activities includes visits to nearby villages, where both adults and children can take part. The local people, mainly the Bakiga and Batoro, display their handmade items and share stories about their lives and how they have survived living near the park.

Traditional dances and songs are performed, and you can enjoy local dishes if you are comfortable dining on the ground or on stools. This experience is meant for you.

The journey continues into the open land, where you can see some mammals. You may not see as many as in Queen Elizabeth National Park because Kibale is mostly filled with primates and birds, but the few animals you spot will still give you a story to tell.

As you follow the dry trails, you will see animals feeding while others care for their young ones. Be careful not to lean on trees, as some reptiles may be hiding or could stick to your clothes.

It is also advised to wear earth-colored clothes that do not attract insects, and avoid wearing black clothes, as they absorb heat and may make you uncomfortable during your journey.

Look no further than Kibale National Park this June.
