There are currently no scheduled flights directly to Kibale National Park or Fort Portal, but Uganda safari operators usually book flights from Kasese town, which is served by daily scheduled Aerolink flights from Entebbe International Airport, where the long journey begins.
Tour packages often combine the adventure of Kibale Forest with Bwindi Impenetrable, Queen Elizabeth, and Murchison Falls National Parks. This makes transportation easier and more accessible.

Flights depart from Entebbe or Kajjansi Airfield and land at Kasese Airstrip, which is followed by a road transfer of about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The whole trip takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
In addition, Aerolink operates only three daily flights. The morning flight runs from 7:00 am to 10:05 am, and the return flight departs at 10:20 am and arrives back in Entebbe at 11:25 am.
Mid-morning and afternoon flights are also available depending on the season, and it is always best to book early to avoid any inconvenience. Mid-morning flights are usually more available during April, May, and November. The afternoon flight departs at 12:00 pm, arrives in Kasese at 2:20 pm, and returns to Entebbe at 4:15 pm.
Other nearby airstrips include Mbarara, Semliki and Mweya, depending on the visitor’s booked travel dates.
Kibale Forest is well known for once hosting a great number of trekkers, earning its nickname “The Primate Capital of the World.” The forest is famous for chimpanzee habituation and trekking as the main activities, along with bird-watching, community walks, nature walks, and research.
The forest is home to 13 different species of primates, and upon arrival, you will be assigned to a tour guide to take you through the natural habitats of these animals.
During the trek, you will be within meters of the primates, and you will have one hour to watch how they live.
