Detailed 2-Day Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking Tour in Uganda Itinerary
Day 1: Pick-Up & Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport or from your hotel, our driver guide will pick you up. After a short briefing about your 2-day Kibale chimp tour, you will start the drive to Kibale Forest National Park.
This road trip takes about 5 to 6 hours, with a lunch stop in Fort Portal City. You will arrive at your lodge inside the park. The wide green forests and tea plantations along the way will make your journey enjoyable. In the evening, after reaching your lodge, you will have dinner and rest for the night.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Departure
You will be served a heavy and nutritious breakfast at your lodge. At the right time, your driver guide will take you to the park headquarters. Here, you will be given a briefing on the rules and guidelines for chimpanzee trekking. These rules help you know what to do during the adventure and how to behave around the chimpanzees. After the briefing, you will be placed in a group of 8 people and given a ranger to lead you on the trek.
After about 4 hours in the forest, you will find the chimpanzees—some high up in the trees and others on the ground feeding and playing. After spending one hour with them, return to the park offices. Your driver guide will take you back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, check out and begin the return journey to Kampala. You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport in the evening for your departure flight back home.
