Detailed 4-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pick-Up & Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Amabere Ga’nyina Mwiru Caves Tour
Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport and give you a briefing about the trip. You will then begin your drive to Kibale Forest National Park, with a lunch stop in Fort Portal.
If time allows, you may visit the Amabere Ga’nyina Mwiru caves on the way. A local guide will explain the history of the caves and their importance to the area. After the visit, continue to the park and check in at your booked lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Tour
After breakfast at your lodge, drive to the park offices for a briefing before chimp trekking. The rangers will go over the rules and group you into teams of 8. A lead ranger will guide your group into the forest to look for chimpanzees.
Once you find the chimpanzees, you will watch them for one hour as they feed, play, and the mothers groom their young. You can take photos during this time.
After the trek, return to the park offices, and your driver will take you back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland. Here, you may see birds, monkeys, and other small animals. You will also enjoy the peaceful views of the wetland and meet local people who help manage the area. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Afternoon Boat Cruise
After a good breakfast, check out of the lodge in Kibale. Your driver guide will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a short drive of about 3 to 4 hours. Along the way, you will see large tea plantations and forested areas until you reach Kasese.
Arrive at your lodge and have lunch. Later, drive to the Katungulu landing site for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This area is known for its many hippos, Nile crocodiles, and other animals like buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes along the shores. You will cruise on the water and enjoy the view of the sun setting behind the hills. After the boat ride, return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Return to Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the Kasenyi plains for a morning game drive. You will see different wild animals such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, warthogs, antelopes, and waterbucks.
The game drive allows you to see animals up close from your safe safari vehicle. After the drive, return to your lodge for lunch. Then check out and begin the journey back to Entebbe International Airport for your flight.
