Kibale Forest Camp is a peaceful place that gives visitors a sense of adventure. It is located inside the green forest next to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, also known as the Magombe Swamp.
It takes only ten minutes by car to reach the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre.
This mid-range camp offers comfort from north to south, giving visitors a choice between two types of tents — self-contained safari tents placed in the forest or non-self-contained tents, which some may call a simpler option, but still offer enough warmth.
The self-contained tents cost from $90 and include 12 African-style tents with twin beds, a private balcony, toilet, bathroom, hot water shower, and a dressing room.
The non-self-contained tents, placed under a grass-thatched roof, include nine tents with comfortable beds, a small table for reading or hanging your items, a power outlet for charging, and Wi-Fi to help you stay connected with your loved ones. These tents are built on wooden floors, not directly on the ground, so don’t worry about the nearby wetlands.
You will feel very welcome when the staff greet you. They will carry your luggage straight to your room.
After a warm bath, lunch will be served, prepared by a skilled chef using ingredients from the local market.
Drinks are served with the buffet to make your meal more enjoyable. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all available whenever you ask. The staff are friendly and always ready to help — feel free to ask for anything.
The bar and restaurant are separate from the tents. They are located nearby in a grass-thatched wooden building.
As you enjoy your meal, you may see red, black, or white colobus monkeys moving through the trees. If you want to see something different, you can visit the nearby crater lakes, which were formed by old volcanic activity. These areas are also good for bird watching, and you may want to take photos or videos of the birds you find.
Enjoy every moment at Kibale Forest Camp.
